"L'impôt du Sang" takes a more melodic approach to Black Metal, definitely resembling some of their Québécois compatriots in projects like Monarque or Délétère, with a great songwriting combining beautiful, plaintive folk passages and blasting moments of triumphant melodicism harkening back to times of old, chanting its land's myths of glory and treachery, always wrapped in a blanket of rustic and freezing atmosphere that permeates the Québecois countryside. - Rites of Pestilence
